Essex Police held a traffic operation on High Street, Ongar, on Friday (May 18) where we dealt with 95 drivers who were not wearing seatbelts and issued six points and a fine each to 33 people driving while using a mobile phone.
The force worked with partners in the Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP) throughout the operation and the team from Essex Highways captured 163 speeding drivers.
Throughout the rest of the operation, five drivers were dealt with for careless driving and riding. Two drivers were found to be drivers were found driving without valid insurance and had their vehicles seized. A further two drivers were found driving without a valid driving licence.
