Basildon Council will continue to offer its key services to residents throughout the festive period.
The Basildon Centre, in St Martin’s Square, will close to the public at 1pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at 8.30am on Thursday, 27 December. The building will also be closed on New Year’s Day, with normal hours of operation for the remainder of the festive period.
During this time residents will be able to access services including payments, business rates, council tax and benefits support, housing, planning and building control. Our environmental health safety advisors will also be working as usual.
Basildon Council’s emergency out-of-hours team will be on call throughout the Christmas period on 01268 533333, and a number of services can be accessed online at www.basildon.gov.uk
Councillor Stuart Sullivan, Chairman of the Corporate Resources Committee, said: “We are committed to getting the basics right and focusing on our customers, so it’s important that we continue to offer our key services and deal with residents’ enquiries throughout the festive season.
“Our opening hours have been agreed with our partners who share the Basildon Centre, who will also be operating on similar schedules. Please note that JobCentre Plus will be closed all day on Christmas Eve.
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas.”
