Brentwood police officers help save man’s life

Pc Victoria Harris and Pc Josh Haase were called to a property in Brentwood at around 12pm on Monday following reports of a man in distress who had locked himself in a flat.

Upon arriving at the address, the officers forced entry to the fourth floor property where they found him standing on the edge of a balcony window threatening to jump.

Knowing they had to approach him with caution, the officers calmly engaged with the man and reassured him that they were there to help.

After building a rapport and gaining his trust, they persuaded him to come away from the edge and he was brought to safety.
