Chelmsford: Two officers receive serious injuries after being stabbed

A 50-year-old woman from Chelmsford has been charged with GBH and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, December 4 following an incident in Chelmsford.

Two police officers received serious injuries following an incident in which they were stabbed in Springfield Road, Chelmsford. The incident happened shortly after 11pm on Friday, December 1.

Officers were called to a property following a report of a concern for welfare. On arrival they have been approached by a woman with a knife.

The woman has stabbed one officer in the leg and a second in the hand. During the altercation the suspect has suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not life-threating or life-changing.

The 50-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and GBH.

Both officers were taken to hospital for treatment.
