Community groups are being asked to share their thoughts on how Basildon Council can better support them by attending a Local Conversation session.
Cllr Andy Barnes, Chairman of the Communities Committee, will host two events alongside Cllr Jeff Henry, Vice-Chairman of the Communities Committee, to better understand the matters affecting local neighbourhoods and voluntary sector organisations across the borough.
The Local Conversation sessions provide an opportunity for community groups to ask questions and have their say on how the council can help them thrive in the future.
The first Local Conversation will take place in the Gielgud Suite at the Towngate Theatre on Monday 6 August. A further event will take place at Barleylands Craft Centre, Billericay, on Thursday 9 August. Both sessions are set to run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Cllr Barnes said: “We are committed to supporting groups and organisations which improve the lives of our residents, but it’s important we have a conversation with members of the voluntary sector to ensure we have our priorities right and are doing all we can to tackle the issues which really count.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for groups to tell us what support would benefit them and their communities in the future, and I look forward to meeting as many representatives as possible.”
