The Forwards Appeal was launched in June to celebrate 20 years of successful fundraising by Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation. Its aim is to raise £500,000 for 20 different ground-breaking projects across 20 different areas of the hospital from the neonatal unit and paediatrics to the chemotherapy and high dependency units.
The Week for Wards collections towards the Forwards Appeal will be held at hospital entrances every day of the week commencing Monday 11 September and the Fundraising Department is keen to recruit individuals, groups and local businesses to give a few hours to the cause. Alternatively, they naturally welcome offers of help with other fundraising activities.
Leisurely strollers, brisk walkers and serious striders are also encouraged to sign up for the 7km Walk for Wards which sets off from Uncle Tom’s Cabin on Shoebury Common at 10am on Sunday 17 September, finishing at Chalkwell shelter.
If you are interested in either helping with the Week for Wards collections or entering the Sunday morning Walk for Wards, please contact the hospital’s fundraising team on 01702 385337 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
